Rising Cost of USPS Services

On October 3, 2021, you can expect the cost of some services provided by the United States Postal Service (USPS) to go up. Over the years the finances of USPS have been known to be unstable and these price changes, while only temporary, are an attempt to help stabilize their finances. These increases will occur from October 3 until December 25, 2021. These price increases will only affect packages shipped by the post office (USPS). FedEx and UPS are separate entities and packages that are shipped by Amazon through USPS have rates set by Amazon directly.
The cost increases will be ranging from $0.25 to $5.00 for shipping. The USPS defines a parcel as anything that isn’t a postcard, letter or flat, such as a magazine or newspaper. While this order is temporary, the postal service may choose to raise prices again after the holiday season. This price increase will not affect letters. The postal service just increased the cost of stamps in August from $0.55 to $0.58.
